Pinkins gets endorsements from South Mississippi Democrats

Sept. 17, 2024 – U.S. Senate candidate Ty Pinkins has garnered endorsements from a number of Democratic organizations in South Mississippi. Over the weekend, he received public backing via social media from the Forrest County Democrats, Jackson County Democrats, and Harrison County Democrats. These counties are part of the Fourth Congressional District, which Pinkins has been actively engaging with in recent months. He believes that the counties within this district often receive insufficient attention from political candidates, a mistake he aims to avoid.

“The Forrest County Democratic Executive Committee wholeheartedly supports Ty Pinkins for US Senate. Mississippi needs a leader that will serve all its citizens, fight for a livable wage, ensure all our citizens have access to quality healthcare, and not ignore or abandon this state’s veterans,“ stated members of the Forrest County Democratic Executive Committee on social media.

“Ty Pinkins will work tirelessly to ensure that Mississippians have access to jobs that will boost our economy and that our children receive an education that is on par with the rest of the nation.“ the statement continued.

The Fourth Congressional District comprises Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Stone, George, Marion, Lamar, Forrest, Perry, Greene, Jones, Wayne, and the southeastern part of Clarke. Other counties have also publicly supported Pinkins, hosting various events such as Meet and Greets, fundraisers, and Get Out the Vote rallies.

Pinkins also dedicates his weekends to attending worship services at various churches within the district, engaging with community members directly, and listening to their concerns while sharing his vision for Mississippi.

“Mr. Pinkins is what Mississippi needs to help move Mississippi forward to a more progressive state and leadership within this country,” wrote the Jackson County Democratic Executive Committee in their statement.

In another online declaration, the Harrison County Democratic Executive Committee expressed their support for Pinkins in the upcoming U.S. Senate election on Nov. 5, describing him as a “resolute public servant.”

Pinkins hopes that other state Democratic leaders and organizations will publicly support his campaign between now and the November 5th elections.

Pinkins, who hails from Rolling Fork and currently lives in Vicksburg, secured the Democratic nomination for Mississippi’s U.S. Senate in early March. He has a diverse background as an attorney, a 21-year U.S. Army veteran with three combat tours in Iraq, a Bronze Star recipient, an author, and a former Presidential Communications Aide for both Democratic and Republican Presidents.

Ty Pinkins aims to promote legislation that supports small-family farmers, generate new job opportunities, lower unemployment rates, and improve education. He is dedicated to ensuring healthcare access and insurance for the residents of Mississippi while advocating for Medicaid expansion, and women’s reproductive freedoms. Pinkins will face off against the incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker in November.
