West Point officers bring lunch to support Starkville police
West Point Police Chief Mike Edwards, Assistant Chief Harold Harris and Sergeant Uneco Love stopped by today and brought lunch to show support for the Starkville Police Department, the department said on its Facebook page.
The Starkville Police Department posted that the visit and the meal were meant to show encouragement and partnership. “Their encouragement and partnership mean a lot to us, and we appreciate the support from our neighboring agency,” the department wrote.
West Point and Starkville are neighboring communities in Mississippi, and law enforcement agencies in the region commonly work together on training, investigations and mutual aid. Acts of visible support between agencies can help boost morale among officers and reinforce cooperation that benefits public safety.
The departments did not provide further details about the visit. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
