VICKSBURG, Miss. — Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded at approximately 11:16 p.m. Feb. 11 to an E-911 call reporting a male suffering a gunshot wound along Highway 61 South near Demby Drive, the department said.
Officers located the man, identified by police as Jaylon Walker of Hermanville, inside a vehicle. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.
The Vicksburg Police Department said it is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and that investigators are committed to gathering all available facts and ensuring a complete review. The department said community safety remains a top priority.
