Vicksburg police are investigating a shooting that wounded one person on April 8 around 8 p.m. in the area of Athens Avenue, the Vicksburg Police Department said in a Facebook post on April 9.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire and learned that one person sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle and is listed in stable condition, the department said.
Preliminary investigation indicates the incident stemmed from an ongoing issue between the victim and the suspect, and investigators have identified a person of interest, the department said. Authorities provided no further details as the investigation continues.
