TVA restores high-voltage lines serving Mississippi delivery points

The Tennessee Valley Authority said Tuesday crews made significant progress restoring high-voltage transmission lines that deliver electricity to local power companies in Mississippi and Tennessee after Winter Storm Fern.

TVA reported power has been restored to West Water Valley, Bruce, NE Corinth, Corinth Primary, Taylor, West Oxford, North Sardis and Tallahatchie Ind. Park. The agency said it also has restored transmission lines serving local power companies in Middle and West Tennessee.

Work to restore local power systems is ongoing, TVA said, and crews are assisting where they can. In North Mississippi, TVA said crews have repaired roughly half of the affected delivery points. TVA thanked residents for their patience and local power companies for their continued partnership during restoration efforts.

TVA is a federally owned corporation that provides electricity in the Tennessee Valley region. For updates on Winter Storm Fern impacts, TVA provided a status page at http://tva.me/3JXa50Y3ZFg.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
