Starkville police welcome two officers after academy graduation

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Chief Mark Ballard and the Starkville Police Department said in a Facebook post today that Officers Hayden Holly and Matthew Keen graduated from the MDCC Law Enforcement Training Academy as members of Class 26-B82.

The department congratulated the newly sworn officers and said it looks forward to their service to the community. The announcement was posted on the department’s official Facebook page and reflects the completion of formal academy training by the two officers.

Law enforcement academies provide recruits with instruction in patrol procedures, criminal law, defensive tactics and community policing principles. Graduation from an academy marks the transition from training to field assignments and further on-the-job development under departmental supervision.

The Starkville Police Department serves the city of Starkville and works with local leaders and residents on public safety initiatives. The department did not release additional details about the officers’ next assignments. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
