This week the Southaven Police Department held a Promotion and Awards Ceremony, promoting 12 officers to supervisory roles and honoring dozens of personnel and partner organizations, the department said.
The department recognized 15 officers for life-saving actions taken beyond the call of duty and presented two Administrative Excellence awards to employees who support the department in instrumental ways, the department said.
Officer Lauren Perrigo was named Officer of the Year for exemplary performance, the department said. Precious Paws Animal Hospital, Memphis Veterinary Specialists and the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department received commendations for their roles in saving K-9 Dagger’s life and helping apprehend the suspect responsible, the department said.
The Southaven Police Department is the municipal police force that serves Southaven, Mississippi. The department said it maintains a high standard of excellence and recognizes personnel not only for achievement but for commitment to mentoring others.
