Sheriff’s Office chiefs complete FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute
Sheriff’s Office chiefs Marena Jones and Marcus Cohen completed the FBI–Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Supervisor Leadership Institute last week in Southaven, the sheriff’s office said on its Facebook page.
The four-and-a-half-day, executive-level program is designed for law enforcement supervisors and mid-level managers and uses FBI-LEEDA’s nationally recognized “Cops Teaching Cops” model, the post said. The institute aims to enhance leadership effectiveness through an intensive, interactive curriculum tailored to public safety professionals.
Course instruction included supervisory leadership; supervisory credibility and authenticity; law enforcement liability; police discipline; DISC behavior and leadership; and leading multigenerational staff, the sheriff’s office said.
FBI-LEEDA is a national organization that provides leadership development and training for law enforcement agencies. Completion of the Supervisor Leadership Institute reflects Jones’ and Cohen’s continued commitment to professional development, leadership excellence and the advancement of professional law enforcement standards, the sheriff’s office said.
