Sheriff Jones continues Pike County litter campaign
Pike County Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones is continuing a 2026 litter campaign to remove trash from state highways and county roads, the sheriff’s office said. The most recent cleanup took place along Interstate 55 north of the Magnolia exit.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation and Commissioner Charles Busby donated a cleanup truck for the effort, the sheriff’s office said. The office extended thanks to donors and supporters, and singled out Correctional Officer Kim Wallace for leading the cleanup operation.
Additional acknowledgement went to the McComb Rotary Club and Victor’s Tint & Graphics for providing decals, according to a release from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department. The post said the campaign reflects the department’s commitment to keeping Pike County “clean, safe, and beautiful.” MDOT is the state agency that maintains highways and coordinates transportation projects across Mississippi.
