Sheriff Bailey awards letters to detention sergeant, deputy
This morning two members of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office received Letters of Accommodation from Sheriff Bryan Bailey, the office said in a Facebook post.
Detention Sergeant Dodd received a letter recognizing “extreme courage and professionalism” during an altercation with a violent inmate at the Adult Detention Center, the post said.
Deputy Mullins received a letter for “quick thinking and performance” while engaged with an armed and violent suspect, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office oversees county law enforcement and detention operations and periodically issues formal acknowledgments to staff who demonstrate notable service. Letters of accommodation are a common way for agencies to recognize employees for actions that protect the public and fellow officers and that reinforce department standards. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
