COLUMBUS — Shaw Pit Bull Rescue is asking the public to sponsor food for the 23 dogs in its care this month, the rescue said. The organization said it goes through one full bag of dog food each day and needs 31 bags to cover all of March.
Officials said 19 bags already have been donated, and supporters are being asked to sponsor the remaining days. The rescue said the cost to sponsor one day of food is $48, which covers one full bag for all 23 dogs.
The rescue said it feeds the dogs Fromm Adult Gold dog food, available through Four Seasons Farm & Garden in Columbus. Supporters can donate a bag by calling the store at 662-329-2281 and designating it for Shaw Pit Bull Rescue, the group said.
Officials provided the dates still needing sponsors: March 3, 6, 8, 12, 14, 17, 19, 22, 25, 27, 29 and 31. Shaw Pit Bull Rescue thanked the community for helping keep the dogs fed and cared for. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
