Second suspect arrested in Scheffel Road ATV theft in Adams County
ADAMS COUNTY — Deputies arrested a second suspect Friday in the theft and recovery of an all-terrain vehicle from property on Scheffel Road, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff’s officials said Jerry W. Rodgers Jr., 49, of Natchez, was taken into custody at about 7:54 a.m. Feb. 20, 2026. He was charged with receiving, possessing or disposing of stolen property, booked into the Adams County Jail and held on $60,000 bond, the sheriff’s office said.
The arrest follows recovery of the stolen ATV and the earlier arrest of Amanda Breland on related charges, sheriff’s officials said. Investigators did not release additional details about how the vehicle was recovered or the specific role each suspect is alleged to have played.
Investigators said the case remains active and additional arrests are possible. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 601-442-2752 or Adams County E911. The sheriff’s office is the primary law enforcement agency that investigates property crimes in the county, including ATV thefts that can involve multiple suspects and jurisdictions.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
