Samaritan’s Purse offers free disaster relief in Oxford
Lafayette County Emergency Management said Samaritan’s Purse is offering free assistance to homeowners affected by the recent disaster. The organization is operating from Christ Presbyterian Church at 901 Sisk Avenue in Oxford, Mississippi, and residents can request help by calling 833-747-1234 and selecting Ext. 4 to reach a Samaritan’s Purse representative.
Volunteers may provide chainsaw work, debris cleanup, temporary roof tarping and moving personal property and furniture to the curb, officials said. The services are free and requests will be handled based on volunteer availability.
Residents who want to volunteer can sign up at spvolunteer.org or call 662-607-4824, Lafayette County Emergency Management said. Officials warned residents not to pay individuals who claim payment is required to receive the assistance.
