Reeves hails athletes earning Olympic qualifier points in Gulfport

Gov. Tate Reeves said in a Facebook post that Mississippi is playing a role in athletes’ paths to the 2028 Olympics, congratulating competitors who earned qualifier points during CLASH Endurance’s Americas Cup World Triathlon and wishing good luck to everyone competing in Gulfport this weekend.

Reeves’ message, posted on the governor’s official Facebook page, highlighted the state’s connection to an event that draws national and international triathletes. He did not provide additional details about individual athletes or results in the post.

CLASH Endurance’s Americas Cup World Triathlon is part of a series of international triathlon events in which athletes can earn points that factor into Olympic qualification processes. Triathlons combine swimming, cycling and running and attract elite competitors seeking ranking points and experience on the international circuit.
