Rankin County Sheriff’s offices close Monday for Presidents Day
The administrative offices of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, in observance of Presidents Day, the department said on its Facebook page.
The department said the Patrol Division will continue to operate as scheduled throughout the holiday. Residents should continue to call emergency services or local dispatch for urgent law enforcement needs.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department is the primary law enforcement agency serving Rankin County in Mississippi, responsible for patrol, investigations, jail operations and records. Temporary closures of administrative offices for federal holidays are common among local government agencies and typically affect nonemergency services such as records requests, permitting and in-person administrative assistance.
Officials urged residents who need administrative services to plan ahead and contact the department before the holiday. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
