Rankin County Sheriff’s Department seeks help locating Charles ‘Derek’ Mcleod Jr.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to help locate Charles “Derek” Mcleod Jr., 50, who was reported missing by his parents after someone found his wallet in Ridgeland and returned it to the family, the department said.

The department said Mcleod has no known vehicle and has not been responding to telephone calls or text messages. His family last saw him during Thanksgiving 2025 at 107 Bailey Avenue in Pearl, Mississippi, and he was working for a carpentry business in Ridgeland as recently as January 2026, the post said.

Rankin County is the county law enforcement agency serving central Mississippi. Ridgeland and Pearl are suburbs of Jackson. Investigators and Mcleod’s family are seeking tips from anyone who may have seen him or knows of his whereabouts, the department said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department at 601-825-1480 or their local law enforcement agency. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
