Power crews run line across St. Andrews Circle; drivers urged to use caution
North East Mississippi Electric Power Association is running a line across St. Andrews Circle, and motorists are being asked to drive slowly and carefully through the area, a Facebook post said.
The post said an officer is monitoring traffic while power crews work in the roadway. Officials advised drivers to reduce speed and exercise caution around work crews to avoid potential hazards.
North East Mississippi Electric Power Association is a regional electric cooperative that provides electricity and related services to communities in northeast Mississippi. Line work and maintenance are routine activities for utility crews and are often coordinated with local authorities to protect workers and the public.
Such operations can create temporary traffic delays and present safety risks if drivers do not heed warnings. Motorists should follow any directions from the on-scene officer and watch for equipment and personnel in the roadway. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
