Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Southaven vape shop
Southaven police said they are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred about 10:59 a.m. at a business located at 1060 Goodman Road East, identified in the post as VaporSmart.
Police said a white male suspect entered the store, went behind the counter and assaulted an employee while reportedly armed with a tool believed to be a screwdriver. The suspect attempted to access the cash register but did not appear to take anything, according to the department.
The employee fled the store and the suspect pursued her, pushing her to the ground before fleeing west toward Swinnea Road, police said. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel. Investigators and patrol units are actively working the case.
