Police host Coffee with a Cop March 5 at Golden Triangle
AARP Chapter 165 is sponsoring Coffee with a Cop on Thursday, March 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Golden Triangle Planning and Development District, 106 Miley Drive, the chapter said in a Facebook post.
The post invited residents to take a few minutes to connect with the officers who serve the community, saying there will be no speeches and no agendas — just an open, informal time to talk.
AARP is a nonprofit organization that focuses on issues affecting people 50 and older; local chapters frequently host events to connect members with community resources and civic leaders. Coffee with a Cop events are a community-policing initiative used in many areas to foster informal dialogue between residents and law enforcement and to give citizens direct access to officers outside of formal settings.
Everyone is welcome, the post said. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
