Police arrest two Vicksburg homicide suspects in Indiana

VICKSBURG, Miss. — The Vicksburg Police Department said on Feb. 22, 2026, that two suspects wanted in connection with a recent homicide have been arrested in Kokomo, Indiana.

Authorities identified the suspects as 18-year-old Quintin Wilson and 18-year-old Arkeyveion Stamps. Both are charged with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Jaylon Walker of Hermanville, Mississippi, the department said in a Facebook post.

Walker was found dead inside his vehicle on Highway 61 South in Vicksburg on Feb. 11, 2026, the statement said. The arrests in Kokomo were confirmed by the Vicksburg Police Department; Kokomo is the county seat of Howard County in north-central Indiana.

Wilson and Stamps are being held in Indiana pending extradition to Mississippi, the department said. Vicksburg is the county seat of Warren County and is located on the Mississippi River. This remains an active investigation. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
