Police arrest man, seek woman after Picayune meth bust

PICAYUNE, Miss. — Police arrested a man and are seeking a woman after executing a search warrant at a Picayune home that turned up methamphetamine, drug packaging materials and cash, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department said.

Deputies with the sheriff’s Narcotics Division, assisted by the SWAT Team, Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division, served the warrant around 5:55 a.m. Monday at 726 W. Lakeshore Drive, the department said. The warrant followed a lengthy investigation prompted by numerous community complaints about suspected drug trafficking at the residence, investigators said.

Officials identified the residents as Jack Ceaser, 46, and Jessica Stewart, 42. Investigators said Ceaser was inside the home when deputies arrived and was seen attempting to destroy evidence; he was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the residence turned up what officials described as an aggravating quantity of methamphetamine, along with plastic baggies, a digital scale and a large amount of cash. Ceaser was booked into the Pearl River County Correctional Facility and charged with felony aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.

Authorities said Stewart was not at the residence when the warrant was served and that a warrant will be issued charging her with felony aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance. Sheriff David Allison praised the work of the involved units and thanked community members for reporting suspected drug activity. Anyone with narcotics tips is asked to call 601-403-2582. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
