Pike County SRT arrests man during McComb narcotics raid

McCOMB, Miss. — The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, with help from the Parish County Line Task Force and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant Feb. 4 on Brine Street in McComb in connection with an ongoing narcotics investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

During the operation, authorities took Jerome Woodard into custody. Woodard was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a church, the release said.

The sheriff’s office described the operation as a joint effort among multiple law enforcement agencies to combat narcotics distribution and gun violence in the community. The Special Response Team is a tactical unit that assists with high-risk search warrants and similar operations, the release said.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, the sheriff’s office added. The release was provided by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
