Pike County Sheriff’s Office supports Magnolia Mardi Gras parade

Pike County Sheriff’s Office said it supported the 2026 Magnolia Mardi Gras Parade and Carnival to help ensure a safe, enjoyable celebration for attendees.

Chief Damian Gatlin and deputies assisted with traffic control, crowd management and public safety throughout the parade and carnival, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department said. Officials credited visible patrols and proactive planning with helping to create a secure environment for families, visitors and community members.

The office also thanked DJ Aaron for providing music on the Sheriff “Wally” Jones Mardi Gras float, saying the energy and music added to the excitement and spirit of the celebration.

The post, provided by the sheriff’s public relations office, said the department remains committed to supporting community events and fostering positive partnerships across the county. Mardi Gras parades and carnivals are annual public celebrations that typically draw large crowds, and local law enforcement often helps manage traffic and safety at such events.
