Pike County Sheriff’s Office announces detention center hiring

Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department said in a Facebook post that the agency is hiring for positions at its detention center.

The detention center, operated by the sheriff’s office, handles the custody and care of people arrested in Pike County and supports public safety operations. Sheriff’s offices and county jails typically provide inmate supervision, booking and transportation, and coordinate with courts and other agencies.

The hiring announcement comes as many local and national law enforcement agencies and correctional facilities continue to contend with staffing challenges that can affect daily operations and services to the community. Filling detention center positions can help ensure safe facility management, timely processing of arrestees and continuity of services for residents and the justice system.

The Facebook post did not include details on specific openings, qualifications or how to apply. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
