Pike County sheriff leads 2026 litter campaign after MDOT truck donation
Pike County Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones is continuing a countywide litter campaign in 2026, focusing cleanup efforts along state highways and county roads, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office said. The effort included work at 570 East and Jaguar Trail, the department said.
The sheriff’s office credited the Mississippi Department of Transportation and Commissioner Charles Busby with donating a cleanup truck for the campaign, and extended thanks to community donors for their support. The department singled out Correctional Officer Kim Wallace and inmates for leading the hands-on cleanup effort.
Officials also thanked the McComb Rotary Club and Victor’s Tint & Graphics for providing decals for the cleanup vehicle, the public relations department said. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office, which provides law enforcement and public safety services in Pike County, said the campaign reflects its commitment to keeping the county clean, safe and attractive.
Local litter and trash removal can improve roadway safety and reduce environmental hazards, officials noted. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department provided the information. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
