Pike County deputies assist Summit police in armed robbery search
Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 — Pike County Sheriff’s Office deputies, supported by drone and K-9 teams, are assisting the Summit Police Department in an armed robbery investigation at the Pure Gas Station near the interstate at the intersection of Lawrence Street and White Oak Street, the sheriff’s office said.
Residents in the area are being asked to stay indoors while an active search is underway and canines are tracking, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department said. The sheriff’s office said all questions will be referred to the Summit Police Department.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement and public safety services across the county and frequently coordinates with municipal police departments on investigations that cross jurisdictional lines. Use of drones and K-9 teams is common in searches to locate suspects or evidence and to increase safety for officers and the public.
The situation remains active and officials have not released additional details about suspects or injuries. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
