Permitted event affects traffic at City Hall, Square
According to a Facebook post, a permitted event is taking place in front of City Hall and around the Square today beginning at 10 a.m. The post said normal traffic patterns should resume by noon.
Permitted events typically require organizers to apply for temporary street or sidewalk use and often involve police or municipal staff to manage traffic and public safety. Such measures can include lane restrictions, temporary road closures and redirected pedestrian routes.
The timing may affect morning commutes, deliveries and access to nearby businesses. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, follow posted signs and directions from traffic officers, and consider alternate routes or public transit where available.
City Hall serves as the municipal seat where local government offices are located, and the Square is a common public gathering place for markets, ceremonies and community events. Permitted events in those areas are a routine way for civic groups and organizations to host public activities.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
