Pedestrian struck by vehicle on North Gloster Street in Tupelo
TUPELO, Mississippi — Tupelo police responded Friday to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on North Gloster Street near McCullough Boulevard, the Tupelo Police Department said.
An adult pedestrian was injured in the crash and was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment, authorities said. The extent of the injuries was not released.
Police urged motorists to use caution in the area and consider alternate routes while emergency crews worked the scene. Officers and emergency responders remained on site as they secured the area and attended to the injured person, the department said.
North Mississippi Medical Center is the primary hospital in Tupelo and provides emergency and trauma care to the region. Vehicle-versus-pedestrian collisions can have serious public-safety and traffic impacts, and local authorities often remind drivers and pedestrians to remain vigilant, especially on busy corridors such as North Gloster Street.
