Panola County investigates double homicide after bodies found in vehicle
PANOLA COUNTY, Mississippi — The Panola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide after deputies found two people dead inside a vehicle early Sunday morning, officials said.
Deputies were dispatched about 7 a.m. March 1 to a reported one-vehicle crash on River Road in central Panola County, the sheriff’s office said. Upon arrival, investigators discovered Victor Gonzalez, 39, and Serenity Gonzalez, 19, both of Memphis, Tennessee, deceased inside the vehicle. Investigators said both appeared to have died from gunshot wounds.
The sheriff’s office said the homicides are believed to have occurred on Feb. 28 or March 1. The case remains under investigation, and investigators did not immediately release information about a possible suspect or motive.
