Oxford reads retirement proclamation for Lieutenant Mark Hodges
Oxford city leaders on Tuesday night formally read a retirement proclamation honoring Lieutenant Mark Hodges, the Oxford Police Department said in a Facebook post. The proclamation recognized Hodges for his dedicated service and commitment to the community, the post said.
The department invited the public to celebrate Hodges’ career Friday, Feb. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the police department, asking residents to stop by to congratulate him, share memories and wish him well on his next chapter, the post said.
The Oxford Police Department, which provides law enforcement services for Oxford, Mississippi, routinely works with the Oxford Board of Aldermen on civic matters and formal recognitions. Public events like retirement celebrations give residents a chance to acknowledge the work of local officers and to support transitions in department leadership.
Details in the department’s social media post were brief. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
