Oxford Police thank MSTIDE for impaired-driving training

Oxford Police Department thanked the Mississippi Training for Impaired Driving Enforcement (MSTIDE) program for providing hands-on training to its officers and law enforcement across the state, the department said in a Facebook post. The department said the training helps ensure safer roads for Mississippians.

MSTIDE is a statewide training initiative that provides instruction to law enforcement on impaired-driving enforcement techniques. The program is known for work with Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, among other methods used to identify and investigate suspected impaired driving.

Law enforcement training programs such as MSTIDE aim to improve officer skills in recognizing impairment, conducting stops and processing suspected impaired drivers safely and consistently. Agencies across Mississippi frequently participate in similar trainings to support broader traffic safety and public-safety goals.

Oxford Police used hashtags on its post to acknowledge MSTIDE and the training. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
