Oxford police celebrated Lt. Mark Hodges’ retirement last Friday, the department said in a Facebook post.
The post said the afternoon event brought together Hodges’ former shift-mates, longtime colleagues and friends for an occasion filled with laughs, stories and memories. The department thanked everyone who attended and wished Hodges well in retirement.
The Oxford Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Oxford, Mississippi, a city in the northern part of the state and home to the University of Mississippi. Retirements of senior officers often serve as opportunities for departments to recognize years of service and the relationships built within the force and the community.
