Organizers host April 1 community event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Organizers are inviting the community to a free, family-friendly event April 1 to mark Sexual Assault Awareness Month with education, support and Easter activities, they said in a Facebook post.
The post says the event will focus on education, empowerment and community support, and will offer resources for attendees. Sexual Assault Awareness Month is observed each April to raise public understanding of sexual violence, to support survivors and to promote prevention efforts nationwide.
Planned activities listed in the post include community resource tables, body safety education for children and families and an Easter egg hunt, making the day both informative and accessible for attendees of all ages. The organizers emphasized that the event is free and kid-friendly and encouraged people to bring family and friends.
Events that combine awareness programming with family activities aim to broaden community engagement and teach parents and children practical safety skills. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
