Ocean Springs police thank Alderman Kevin Wade for cleanup, parade role
Ocean Springs Police Department thanked Alderman Kevin Wade for his ongoing, behind-the-scenes support and for serving as grand marshal of the city’s Mardi Gras parade, the department said in a Facebook post.
The post said Wade routinely helps with cleanup after events, including picking up signs and other debris — tasks he does voluntarily though he is not required to do them. The department said those quiet acts of service reflect his dedication to the city and its residents.
The Ocean Springs Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The department said Wade’s continued support of both the department and the broader community is appreciated and that his actions set an example for others.
City officials and community organizations often recognize volunteers and elected officials who assist with public events; such support can help with event logistics and neighborhood appearance. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
