Motorcyclist dies in crash on North Gloster Street in Tupelo
TUPELO, Miss. — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday in a crash on North Gloster Street, the Tupelo Police Department said.
Police said officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle near the Mississippi Department of Transportation offices on North Gloster Street. The department said the crash was reported Tuesday and that emergency personnel were on the scene.
Authorities initially shut down North Gloster Street because of a heavy police presence and the on-scene investigation. In an update, police said the roadway has since reopened and the scene cleared.
No additional details about the victim or the circumstances of the crash were immediately released, the department said. The Mississippi Department of Transportation oversees state highways and maintains regional offices in communities across the state, including Tupelo.
