Motor rodeo draws agencies to DeSoto County for training, fundraising
DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the 2026 Scotty Triplett Memorial Motor Rodeo at the Landers Center, the Southaven Police Department said in a Facebook post. Mid-South motor units and other agencies, including participants from as far away as Amarillo, Texas, are training and competing while building interagency relationships this week.
The event supports Warriors of the Badge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting the families of fallen or injured first responders, the post said. Organizers are using the rodeo to combine practical skills training with public demonstrations and friendly competition among motorcycle and motor unit teams.
The Landers Center in Southaven is a multi-purpose arena that hosts concerts, sporting events and community gatherings. Local law enforcement agencies often use such events to showcase safety equipment and engage with residents, officials say, while strengthening regional coordination for emergency response.
The Scotty Triplett Memorial Motor Rodeo is open to the public Saturday, April 11, and will include a touch-a-truck event. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
