Mississippi Museum hosts 23rd annual Fossil Road Show Saturday
JACKSON — The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks’ Mississippi Museum of Natural Science will hold its 23rd annual Fossil Road Show on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., museum officials said.
The family-friendly event invites fossil lovers, rock collectors and budding paleontologists to bring their finds to the museum in Jackson for on-the-spot identification by the museum’s team of scientists. Organizers said visitors of all ages can have teeth, bones, imprints and other specimens examined and learn more about their origins.
The museum, which operates under the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, offers exhibits and educational programming that focus on the state’s natural history and biodiversity, organizers said. Events such as the Fossil Road Show give members of the public a chance to engage directly with researchers and learn about paleontology and Earth’s ancient past.
This is a scheduled public event. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
