Mississippi DPS brings mobile driver’s license station to Brookhaven High

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said its Mobile Driver’s License Station stopped at Brookhaven High School so students could earn a learner’s permit or driver’s license on campus.

The department posted the announcement on its official Facebook page and encouraged schools and communities interested in hosting the mobile unit to contact Driver Services at contactdsb@dps.ms.gov.

Mississippi DPS oversees driver licensing and other public safety functions in the state. Mobile driver services are intended to increase access to licensing for people who may face transportation or scheduling barriers to visiting a permanent office.

Bringing licensing services to school campuses can streamline the process for teens and families and may help ensure that new drivers receive proper testing and documentation. The department said the visit allowed students to complete licensing steps without leaving school grounds.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
