Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers board extends Passover greeting
The Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers board of directors wished the community a “Happy Passover” in a brief message posted recently on the organization’s Facebook page.
The post, consisting of the two-word greeting, was shared by the local crime prevention group to acknowledge the Jewish holiday.
Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers is part of a network of community-based Crime Stoppers programs that typically work with law enforcement and the public to solicit anonymous tips and support investigations. Such organizations often use social media to share safety information, community messages and event notices.
Passover is a major Jewish holiday that commemorates the Exodus from Egypt and is observed by Jewish communities worldwide. Local acknowledgments of religious observances can signal outreach and inclusivity by civic and nonprofit groups.
