MEMA praises private partners for winter storm response
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency praised private partners for extraordinary support during the recent winter storm, saying volunteer organizations, businesses and faith-based groups across the state played a critical role in response and recovery efforts.
MEMA said in a Facebook post that the coordination, generosity and commitment of these partners made a real difference for Mississippi communities. The agency acknowledged volunteers and private-sector groups for supplementing official response capabilities during the event.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency coordinates state response and recovery activities and frequently works with community volunteers, nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups and businesses to deliver aid, restore services and support residents affected by disasters. Such partnerships are often essential when severe weather strains public resources.
MEMA said it is proud to recognize the partners and posted an official thank-you on its website: https://www.msema.org/get-assistance/disaster-resources/disasters/january-2026-winter-weather. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
