McCoy sentenced to 20 years for trafficking methamphetamine

Adrian Rashad McCoy pleaded guilty Feb. 19, 2026, to trafficking methamphetamine and was sentenced to 20 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the First Circuit Court District said.

Judge Kelly Mims imposed the sentence and ordered that McCoy not be eligible for parole or early release, requiring him to serve the full 20-year term, according to a statement from Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District.

The indictment was returned by a Pontotoc County grand jury. The case was investigated by Kory Clowers and the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department along with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, and was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Megan French and Sidra Winter on behalf of the state, the statement said.

Trafficking methamphetamine is a serious felony in Mississippi and can carry lengthy prison terms. The announcement came from the district attorney’s office; we will provide more information as it becomes available.
