Man faces $2 million bond in Jackson double murder case

JACKSON — Michael Knight appeared Tuesday in Municipal Court and was held on a $2 million bond after being charged with two counts of murder in a Sunday night shooting that left two people dead, authorities said.

Jackson Police Department officers were dispatched about 10 p.m. Sunday to the 5300 block of Dogwood Trail near Oakridge Road on a report of a shooting, authorities said. Officers found two deceased people: a Black man lying in a ditch and a white man lying in the street nearby.

The victims were identified as 31-year-old Antonio Arnold and 63-year-old Glen McWilliams, authorities said. The Hinds County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, and next of kin have been notified, police said.

Jackson police said the department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit are handling the investigation and that the case remains active.
