Man arrested, another wanted after Gulf Park Estates shooting

GULF PARK ESTATES — One man has been arrested and another is wanted after a shooting Thursday night in Gulf Park Estates, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said.

Sheriff John Ledbetter said deputies responded at approximately 9:30 p.m. Feb. 26 to a reported shooting near North 19th Street and Pickering Forrest Drive. When deputies arrived, they found 47-year-old Nathan Lee suffering from two gunshot wounds following an altercation with another party.

Lee was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition, officials said. During the investigation, authorities identified two suspects: 46-year-old Christopher Paul Landry and 32-year-old Glen Guy Barton.

Investigators arrested Barton on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the sheriff’s department said. Landry is wanted on an active warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and his whereabouts are unknown.

The case remains under active investigation and additional charges or arrests may be forthcoming, officials said.
