Man arrested after Meridian raid seizes ecstasy, meth, cocaine and firearm
MERIDIAN, Miss. — A Meridian man faces multiple felony charges after Lauderdale County deputies seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, a firearm and cash during a raid tied to an ongoing narcotics investigation, authorities said.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department said its SWAT team executed a search warrant Tuesday, March 31, at a residence in the 300 block of 40th Avenue in Meridian. Deputies recovered more than 200 Ecstasy pills, more than one ounce of cocaine, more than two ounces of methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl-laced and pharmaceutical pills, a firearm and more than $1,000 in cash believed to be connected to drug activity, officials said.
Authorities arrested Martin Walker III at the scene. The sheriff’s department said Walker is facing multiple felony charges in connection with the seizure and that his total bond was set at $850,000.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation remains ongoing and that additional charges are possible. Public health and law enforcement officials have warned that fentanyl-laced pills increase the risk of overdose and are a growing concern nationwide.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
