Leake County sheriff seeks public help after church burglary

LEAKE COUNTY, Miss. — The Leake County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help after a burglary at a Lena church on March 21.

Deputies responded about 6:38 p.m. to Harmony M.B. Church at 1011 Highway 487 West and found the building had been broken into and left in disarray, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. Investigators determined $400 in cash was taken from inside the church.

Authorities asked anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. The sheriff’s office said tips that lead to an arrest could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.
