Lafayette County seeks help locating runaway 14-year-old

LAFAYETTE COUNTY — The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating a 14-year-old runaway, officials said Friday.

Authorities identified the juvenile as Alexa Rosa and said she was last seen at her residence in the 200 block of County Road 215 at about 10:30 p.m. Anyone with information about Rosa’s whereabouts or details that could help locate her is asked to call the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department at 662-234-8789, the office said.

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for the county and routinely coordinates searches and public alerts when residents, especially juveniles, are reported missing. Missing-juvenile cases are often time-sensitive because younger people can be particularly vulnerable, officials and public-safety experts say.

Authorities ask anyone who may have seen Rosa, who may have relevant social media information, or who knows of friends or family members who might have contact with her to call the sheriff’s department rather than attempting to approach the juvenile. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
