Jayess man dies after vehicle hits fallen tree on Highway 27

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Miss. — A Jayess man died Wednesday night after his vehicle struck a fallen tree on Highway 27, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened March 11 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Highway 27 in Lawrence County, officials said. The vehicle, a 2022 Toyota Venza, was traveling southbound when it collided with the tree, the patrol said.

The driver was identified as Anthony Case, 56, of Jayess. Case sustained fatal injuries, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said. The patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
