Jackson police conduct motorcycle tactical training
The Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post that it conducted officer survival motorcycle tactical training instructed by Lt. Mark Hodges.
The department said the session emphasized motorcycle tactical firearms transitions, seamless weapon handling during dismounts, target engagement and maintaining situational awareness. The training aimed to enhance precision and readiness for motor officers during high-pressure encounters.
JPD said the event also served as its quarterly Metro Interagency Motor Training, bringing together motor officers from Flowood Police Department, Capitol Police and the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office. The department said collaborative exercises help strengthen coordination among agencies that often work together on traffic enforcement, escorted movements and special events.
Motor units play a distinct role in traffic safety, crowd control and rapid response, and regular, scenario-based training helps officers maintain proficiency under stress. The Jackson Police Department posted the photographs and summary on its official Facebook account. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
