Hinds County Sheriff’s Office unveils fallen deputies monument
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that it unveiled the Fallen Deputies & Jailers Monument in Hinds County, Mississippi, to honor deputies and jailers who died in the line of duty.
The office said the permanent memorial bears the names of the fallen etched in stone as a lasting reminder of their service and sacrifice. “We will remember. We will honor. We will never forget,” the post said.
The post extended gratitude to the families of the fallen and thanked Hinds County Board of Supervisors President Robert Graham, Vice President Wanda Evers and all board members for their leadership in bringing the monument to fruition, the office said.
Officials also thanked county leaders, members of the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, the Jackson Police Department and partnering law enforcement agencies, clergy, elected and appointed officials, community partners and visitors who attended the ceremony. The post singled out Felicia Tripp for managing the program.
The office said the unveiling was a reminder of duty, sacrifice and the bond of the law enforcement family. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
