Gulfport police arrest two teens in shooting that wounds 18-year-old

Gulfport police said two teenagers were arrested in connection with a Jan. 30 shooting that left an 18-year-old man critically injured.

The department identified the suspects as 16-year-old Briandly Bacarri Holmes and 14-year-old Antreeion Coleman, both of Gulfport, Mississippi. Police said Holmes was arrested Jan. 31 and Coleman was arrested Jan. 30 on one count of aggravated assault each.

Officers responded about 6:01 p.m. to the area of 15th Avenue and 28th Street, where they located the victim with a gunshot wound. Police said the victim was airlifted to a trauma facility and was listed in stable but critical condition. The department said the investigation found the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute involving a firearm; when the victim arrived at the location he was chased and struck by gunfire.

Police said both suspects were processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and are being held on $500,000 bonds. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
